CARDOC
Service — Paint Protection Film

Invisible armour for premium paint.

Self-healing optically-clear urethane film, hand-cut and applied panel-by-panel — protecting against stone chips, swirl marks, road grime and UV. Best for new builds, repaint jobs, and high-value daily drivers.

Phone-first

PPF is consultation-first.

Every PPF job needs a hands-on assessment — coverage zones, paint condition, edge wrapping, film grade. We don't take online bookings for this service. Call us and we'll walk you through coverage options and book a sit-down quote.

What is PPF

A clear urethane shield between road and paint.

Paint Protection Film (PPF) is a thick, optically-clear thermoplastic urethane layer applied directly over the car's clear coat. It absorbs the impact of stone chips, road debris, light scratches and bug etching, leaving the paint underneath untouched.

Modern PPF self-heals — light scratches and swirl marks disappear with heat (sun, warm water, or a heat gun). Premium films also resist staining, road salt, fuel splash and UV yellowing, with a 5-year manufacturer warranty.

Why CARDOC for PPF

Hand-cut, edge-wrapped, no shortcuts.

Plotter-cut templates

We use up-to-date Hungarian-market DAP templates plus hand-cut adjustment on every panel — no overspray edges, no peeled corners six months later.

Premium films only

We work with industry-leading 8-mil self-healing films with full manufacturer warranty backing — not the no-name eBay product cheaper shops use.

Paint correction first

PPF locks in whatever's underneath it. We always machine-polish the car to a clean baseline before wrapping — included in the quote, not an upsell.

Climate-controlled bay

PPF needs a dust-free, temperature-controlled space to install correctly. We work in a sealed indoor bay — never on the customer's driveway.

How it works

From consultation to keys back.

01

Phone consultation

Call us and tell us about the car — make, model, age, paint condition, what you're trying to protect. We'll talk you through coverage options and price ranges.

02

In-person quote

Bring the car in for a walk-around. We measure paint thickness, check existing damage, agree the coverage zones, and write you a fixed-price quote on the spot.

03

Pre-wrap prep

On install day: hand wash, decontamination wash, paint correction polish, and a panel-by-panel inspection signed off with you before any film goes on.

04

Wrap

Hand-cut templates aligned and applied panel by panel. Edges wrapped under panel lines wherever possible — no exposed film edges that catch dirt.

05

Final check + handover

48-hour curing time before delivery. At pickup we walk you through the 7-day aftercare guide (no high-pressure wash, no brush wash, no harsh chemicals).

FAQ

PPF — questions we get a lot

Is the film visible once installed?

High-grade PPF is optically clear — when installed correctly with proper edge wrapping, you really cannot see it on the car. Matte and satin finishes are also available if you want to change the look. Cheap film, badly cut edges or worn film over years can become visible — which is exactly the difference between a £200 and a £2000 wrap.

How long does PPF last?

Our premium 8-mil film comes with a 5-year manufacturer warranty across every coverage package. Real-world lifetime can exceed that with proper care, but UV exposure, washing habits and climate all play a role. You get the warranty papers on handover.

Can it be removed later without damaging the paint?

Yes — when installed on factory paint and removed within the warranty window, PPF peels off cleanly with heat. Repainted panels, however, can lift with the film, which is why we always check paint history before quoting.

How is PPF different from ceramic coating?

Ceramic coating is a thin hardened glass-like layer (a few microns thick) that protects against UV, water spots and chemical staining — but won't stop stone chips. PPF is 200+ microns of urethane that physically absorbs impacts. Many clients combine both: PPF on impact zones, ceramic on the rest.

Will the film scratch?

Yes — but self-healing film recovers from light scratches on its own (heat from the sun, warm water, or a heat gun "resets" the film). Deeper scratches that cut through the film need a patch repair, which is cheaper and faster than respraying paint.

Why don't you take online PPF bookings?

PPF is never one-size-fits-all. We need to see the car, measure paint thickness, talk about your real-world use case, and agree the exact coverage map before quoting. A 5-minute phone call gives a better starting point than any online form.

How long does it take?

Track Pack: 1 day. Full Front: 1–2 days. High-Impact: 2–3 days. Full Body: 5–7 days. Add 48h curing on top before the car can be washed.

Do you do PPF over an existing repaint?

Yes, but only after the repaint has fully cured (minimum 30 days, ideally 60–90). We'll verify with a paint-thickness reading before going ahead.

Ready to talk PPF?

A 5-minute phone consultation tells us 80% of what we need. Call us during business hours and we'll book you in for a sit-down quote.
